Roller Upgrade Tracks

Roller progression in Paint My Keyboard! usually splits into parallel tracks: Speed levels reduce animation time and cooldown between keys, while Width levels widen the brush to cover 2, 3, or more keys per pass. Some updates add a Multiplier track that boosts cash from rolled keys — treat it like a premium paint when priced similarly.

Costs rise exponentially. Level 1 speed might cost hundreds of cash; level 10 costs millions. Never compare levels across accounts after different patch notes — always read the live price tag in your server.

Speed vs Width Math

Speed increases actions per minute (APM) of painting. Width increases keys per action. Effective keys per minute equals APM × width × keys actually hit. On a single-row starter board, speed wins until width can hit the entire row from center. On four rows, width that covers two keys minimum often beats another speed point.

Simulate a lap: count unpainted keys, estimate seconds per lap at current speed, multiply by payout. Compare lap income after a hypothetical width buy using paint roller mechanics.

Suggested Level Milestones

Hit speed level 3 before first expansion if prices allow — walking between distant keys feels awful on base speed. Reach width level 2 before buying third expansion row so one pass paints a stripe. Push speed to match walk speed around width level 3 to avoid outrunning your brush.
